Richard Freeman: Ex-British Cycling and Team Sky chief doctor banned four years for anti-doping violations

Former British Cycling and Team Sky main doc Richard Freeman has been banned from each athletics for 4 years for violating anti-doping rules.

Freeman was struck disconnected successful 2021 due to the fact that of misconduct aft a proceeding by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

Following the tribunal, Freeman was charged with 2 violations by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad).

An autarkic sheet has present recovered helium possessed a prohibited substance and tampered with portion of doping control.

The prohibition has been backdated to 22 December 2020, the day of his provisional suspension.

Freeman attempted to overturn the determination to permanently onslaught him disconnected the aesculapian registry but his appeal was rejected by the High Court successful January.

Ukad paused its lawsuit against Freeman during that appeal, aft which it confirmed it would look to resume proceedings.

The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) convened successful July 2023 to see Ukad's lawsuit and recovered some charges proven - possession of prohibited substances, and tampering oregon attempted tampering with immoderate portion of doping control.
