3 years agoI missed out on trying Forza 5 because of the timing of my subscription but I did dabble in AoE 4 enough to know that I want to buy it when it eventually goes on a deep enough sale.
I'll echo that Dicey Dungeons is awesome. I will nitpick your review a bit and say that the game is so well designed that they do an impressive job at reducing RNG for game that on the surface is all RNG. I personally dislike RNG heavy rogue-likes and card-battlers. I feel you can have good RNG and bad RNG and the difference between that can ruin a game. Dicey Dungeons is very much a case of good RNG for the vast majority of the content it offers.

3 years agoCan't wait to dive into Forza! I have been trying the smaller games first, like Unpacking, which was ok but I overall didn't like.
show more show lessAs a clean and organized person I thought Unpacking would feel good, but it felt more like spewing junk all over, especially on the stages where you move in with others that already have all their stuff in place it feels like you're an outsider just cluttering up the few spaces in between the existing mess.
Why does this person move every two years? Even though these are supposed to be landmark moments in life they just come way too quick since they notedly put the year for each one, and the game could have had several more life stages to get even more emotional but nah they just leave it ambiguously surface level.
Moves in 2004, 2007, 2010, sure I can understand the high school and college portion of life, but then boom 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, like CALM DOWN!
What really would have been cool is taking it further, where you see the stages of life continue to watch the child grow up, move out, the family moves in to a smaller house, maybe moving into a retirement home (or just a few items unpacking into a hospital room would be really dark) but just SOMETHING creative or trying to make a mark but this is completely forgettable.
There are a few key items that are distinctly feminine, which I got tired of putting away in each new location: bras, tampons, maxi pads, dresses, a few pink heart-y items.
The entire game could have been completely gender neutral if they were mindful of the feminine items, where everything else felt very gender neutral such as flannel shirts and jeans, art supplies and figurines, even a few stuffed animals that could go in the closet if you're not that into them.
If those items were changed the 'story' of growing up would be left the exact same; the landmark moments of falling in love and having a child the player would insert themselves in whatever role they would be and assume the person they were moving in with is the other.

3 years agoGreat work as always, Kinglink.
It makes me really sad too hear Echo Generation wasn't good. I heard it was like Earthbound and wanted to try it out, but you probably just talked me out of it.

3 years agoNot to mention Java edition has all the mods and maps.
Also, fun fact, Forgotten City was a Skyrim mod first, so it's fairly well known already. Can't wait to play it again though

3 years agoI really love FH5 but that is no surprise. I just learned that my most played game of 2019 (the year I joined) was FH4 and it is also in my top 5 played games. Everyone in my house loves FH4 and FH5 is way better.

3 years agoThanks for the video! All of the choices available on game pass can be a bit overwhelming, so I find these videos super helpful, so I know what to prioritise when I am picking what to try next!
show more show lessAs someone who rarely plays racing games, I was blown away by Forza Horison 5. I found it super beginner friendly, (though some of the seasonal events can be a bit too tricky for me to finish!), and I love the open world, sound track, sense of exploration, and just the feeling of being able to drive around super fast !! Getting points for just whacking things around is super fun too hahaha. My only problem has been the loading times, though a recent patch felt like it improved it. And is probably just because my computer is getting a bit old now. ^^;;

3 years agoAnd Alan Wake 2 was announced at The Game Awards on Thursday, so a true sequel is definitely coming.
