3 years agoThis game is a large step backwards from charged and the OG. The controls are bad and they added too much complication to the core gameplay.

3 years agoIt’s okay fun but nothing compared to Mario Strikers Charged. I miss the captains and sidekicks with special abilities, much larger field along with a variety of fields, and more items. Also the controls aren’t so comfortable in this game and there is no way to edit them.

3 years agoNo Daisy? Are you serious? THAT ALONE is a deal breaker. They better add on DLC.

3 years agoThat’s why they should have more then one hyper strike and a way to shorten it and not just turn off or not restrict entirely.

3 years agoI would give anything for a more comprehensive seasonal/single player mode and more online ranked modes… altho maybe the strikers club will pick up once the season starts… Anyone else NA playing?

3 years agoIf you are looking for quality mario spin offs on the switch then you cant go wrong with
Mario kart 8 deluxe
Mario maker 2
Mario party superstars
Mario + rabbids kingdom battle
Mario + rabbids sparks of hope ( i know this game is not out yet but it is taking everything the first game did and improving on it and we know it will be a lot more open then the first game and you wont have team limitations. I highly doubt this game will turn out a disappointment as the first game had love and care put into it and i forgot the persons name but there was that one guy who started crying when he was mentioned to the crowd during the first games reveal. )
Paper mario orgami king (Its not ttyd 2 and thats ok. If you can accept the game for what it is then you will have a great time. The only big flaw with the game is the battle system as it can get repetitive and there is no reward for doing it.
So yea we have a great kart racer game, a great party game, a great maker game, a great rpg strategy game and a really good action adventure game if you can accept it for what it is so while mario strikers battle league is severely lacking mario is still hitting the right notes in other spin offs.

3 years agoHaving these timing related shots/passes are not my cup of tea.
I haven't played Battle League so feel free to correct me, but it seems like you don't need to work as hard for your goals in here compared to Charged.
The bigger field in Charged made it possible to strategize which doesn't seem the case here anymore – it's more like a fast paced mess.
In Charged every character had a different kind of dodge, which made counterplays really interesting. Than we have the charged ball, which was pretty much always required on a high level for a goal to happen. You needed to pass the ball around, charge-dodging or free-kick the ball on the wall/infront of you to keep the charge – and everything of this while not handing over the ball to the enemy. It was high risk – high reward.
And in Battle League: Make perfect pass/shot -> high chance of goal. No risk, just the right timing.
It feels weird.
I dunno how many different ways of making goals there are in Battle League, but Charged had a lot of them, besides simply shooting on the goal. You could even perfectly time the diddy kong dodge to jump over the keeper and score a goal. You could make a high shot aimed against the wall to make a mid-air shot in the goal, even without a teammate passing high.
Don't get me started on the teammates special full charged shots.
It just feels like a huge downgrade. The only part I like is the free aimed passing mechanic, but anything else just feels worse.

3 years agoI loved Strikers Charged as a kid, it was so so so much fun. But looking at the trailers and the gameplay and the various reviews, Battle League seems like a very stripped down version of my beloved childhood game. Idk, maybe I'll get it later after they've finally release the dlc, and hopefully on sale. I just had such high hopes when it was revealed, and somehow I already feel let down despite not even playing it yet.

3 years agoMy verdict is that the game has a good base and plays well but it doesn't have enough content to be worth the $60. After you beat the cup battles there's basically nothing left to do but play online matches until you eventually get bored and stop playing.

3 years agoI am just going to say it once, GameXPlain:
show more show less* If you turn Hyper Strikes off, then just press home button, close the game, and go play Fifa or something lol.
Boring, real life people playing soccer? Mehhhhhh
* Funny, all well-known Nintendo characters with special powers playing wild Strike sport? I'm sold! Main selling point right there, specially with those quality animations they did!

2 years agoRemember the good ole days when they released a game with everything that was planned for it to be in it? Now it’s DLC this, DLC that. Weak.
