Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate Daemonhunters review after 90h of Legendary difficulty. XCOM style game set in W40k setting. Interesting combination that can be hit and miss. Well here is what I think.

3 years agoHeard it needed some polishing at launch but the core gameplay was solid, glad that seems to be the case. Apparently they did some balance patches that changed some builds pretty significantly mid-campaign for some people that pissed a bunch of people off. I figure by the time it goes on sale most of the balancing/polish patches should be out and the game will be in a better state to jump into.

3 years agoThanks for another great review man. I might hold off on this one and wait for some more patches and updates. Huge fan of XCOM as well plus the 40K lore is unbeatable

3 years agoAs someone who preordered i will say that the game at first was not worth the money, but after seeing the past updates, i think im getting my moneys worth. Id suggest waiting to anyone wanting it but if youre inclined i wouldnt blame you for grabbing it as is.

3 years agogreat review. i like the pre updates for people out of capital, it makes you experience the less traveled path. If you want to choose your own knight you need the barracks

3 years agoDecent video. I appreciate your work even if you think Phoenix Point is anything other than steaming feces. I may dig up a video of you attempting to justify that.
Do you ever stop to ponder that some things you don't like about the game are due to playing on the hardest difficulty? Like inadequate resources to use abilities or excessive debuffing by enemies. You see this on Steam pretty much daily – people who play on the hardest difficulties then complain when the game is actually….difficult. Extra comical are posts by those who play the hardest difficulties blind, get mowed, and complain endlessly.

2 years agoI watched tons of Mighty Jingles vids on his (still) playthrough, i love this game, not to big fan of Warhammer 40k universe (nope those Tyrannids and Necrons creep the hell out of me) but still its good game. While i played so far two hours or so, i like it. To be honest i never like this kind of game befores, i avoided XCOM as it was plague but Chaos Gate – Deamonhunters is good game, i hope there will be more updates, DLCs and perhaps sequel where we could see Tyrannids, Tau, Orks….
