Another circular of wintry upwind takes purpose southbound of Louisville overnight

NOW, YOUR WLKY WEATHER WITH CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JAY CAR. YEAH, JUST SOME MESSY WEATHER ACROSS A BIG PART OF THE NATION. WITH THE ARCTIC AIR IN PLACE. MOISTURE RIDING UP FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. IT’S NOT A GOOD RECIPE AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT’S A RECIPE FOR A LOT OF SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. AND WE HAD A TASTE OF THAT IN OUR AREA LAST NIGHT. AND THIS MORNING HERE IN THE METRO. AND TONIGHT DOWNSTATE KENTUCKY. MORE ON THAT IN JUST A BIT. WOW, WHAT A COLD DAY, RIGHT? 30 AND 25. THE EXTREMES. LOOK AT THE AVERAGE HIGH, 45 DEGREES. WE’LL BE CLOSE TO THAT, BUT NOT UNTIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON. AND AGAIN, WE DID HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT WINTRY PRECIPITATION, BUT A LITTLE WENT A LOT WAY LATE LAST NIGHT AND THIS MORNING WITH ALL THE SLICK SPOTS AROUND THE REGION. HEY, OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW, WE DO HAVE CLOUDY SKIES. IT’S DRY IN TOWN, 28 DEGREES. A COUPLE OF FLURRIES WERE FLYING EARLIER. I THINK WE’RE PRETTY MUCH DONE HERE IN TOWN WITH THE FLURRY CHANCES. HUMIDITY IS 75%, A NORTH NORTHEASTERLY BREEZE, QUITE LIGHT, JUST THREE MILES PER HOUR. OTHER AREAS AROUND TOWN, TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THOSE ROADWAYS ALL ACROSS THE METRO AND FOLKS THAT ARE LOOKING GREAT RIGHT NOW, SPEED ARE UP ON THE AREA. INTERSTATES, THE PAVEMENT IS DRY. AND THAT TRENCH COULD CONTINUE OVERNIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. SO TOMORROW MORNING WILL BE MUCH, MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT IT WAS. THIS MORNING, YOUR RADAR SCAN LOOKS CLEAR AROUND TOWN AND SURROUNDING REGIONS UNTIL YOU GET A LITTLE BIT FARTHER OFF TO THE SOUTH, CLOSER TO THE PARKWAYS. WE STILL HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT BLUE SHOWING UP, LITTLE PINK. THIS IS WHERE WE’RE DEALING WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT SNOW, A FEW SLEET PELLETS, EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE. IT’S MOVING OFF TO THE EAST RATHER QUICKLY, SO THAT WON’T LAST ALL THAT MUCH LONGER. BUT FROM NEAR THE PARKWAYS AND POINTS OFF TO THE SOUTH WITH A LIGHT COATING POSSIBLE IN SPOTS. WATCH OUT FOR A FEW SLICK SPOTS OVERNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY, EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. AGAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE VIEWING AREA. AND THAT’S WHERE THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE, REMAINS IN EFFECT. BUT NOTICE THE WESTERN PERIPHERY OF THIS THING HAS BEEN CANCELED. SO HOPEFULLY AS WE MOVE THROUGH THE NIGHT, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO CHISEL WAY THAT ADVISORY FROM WEST TO EAST AS THE QUIET WEATHER MAKES A RETURN LATE TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. BIG PICTURE SHOWING WE’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS. THE ONLY ONES I SHOULD SAY, WITH THIS NASTY WINTRY WEATHER ALL THE WAY FROM THE LOWER OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS AND AREAS OFF TO THE WEST. MATTER OF FACT, THE WINTER STORM WARNINGS, THE ICE STORM WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FROM TEXAS THROUGH ARKANSAS FOR WESTERN PORTIONS OF TENNESSEE, NORTHWESTERN MISSISSIPPI AS WELL. AND THEN JUST INTO OUR REGION, SOUTH OF THE METRO. BUT CONDITIONS WILL START TO CHANGE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE RECIPE, ARCTIC AIR IN PLACE, MOISTURE AND ENERGY RIDING THE JET STREAM. THAT’S WHY IT’S BEEN UNSTABLE, UNSETTLED AND WINTRY RECENTLY. BUT THE GOOD NEWS, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS OVERNIGHT. THIS LATEST LITTLE BURST OF WINTRY WEATHER WILL GET ON OUT OF HERE. SOME SUNSHINE EXPECTED TO BREAK THROUGH AS WE MOVE INTO AND THROUGH TOMORROW. THAT’LL BE NICE. WE’LL HAVE A MIXTURE OF HIGH CLOUDS AND SUNSHINE. IT’S STILL GOING TO BE A CHILLY DAY, BUT HEY, WE’RE GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. HIGH TEMPERATURES ON YOUR WEDNESDAY CLIMBING BACK INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER THIRTIES BY MID TO LATE AFTERNOON. HERE’S OUR FORECAST NOW THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT, A LIGHT WINTRY MIX TO THE SOUTH THAT WILL BE GRADUALLY ENDING COLD, THOUGH LOW TEMPERATURES OF 23 DETAILED FORECAST FOR YOUR WEDNESDAY. A MIX OF HIGH CLOUDS AND SUN. VERY CHILLY IN THE MORNING. WE WILL WARM A LITTLE BIT INTO THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S STILL CHILLY AND BELOW AVERAGE, BUT IT’S BETTER. 39 WILL BE YOUR HIGH. WE’RE 44 ON GROUNDHOG DAY SPEAKING OF GROUNDHOG DAY, THERE WILL BE A CHANCE FOR A FEW RANGE SHOWERS AGAIN TO THE SOUTH OF THE METRO. I THINK THE METRO WILL STAY DRY. VICKY, IT GETS COLD FOR ONE DAY. FRIDAY. IT LOOKS VERY CHILLY DESPITE ALL THAT SUNSHINE AND A HIGH OF JUST 34. BUT THERE’S YOUR WARM UP MID-FORTIES SATURDAY WILL TURN INTO MID-FIFTIES ON SUNDAY, WHICH WILL TURN INTO HIGH AS CLOSE TO 60. MONDAY A
