China's September 2022 Domestic Handset Shipments Down 2% YoY, Up 10% MoM

A full of 20.92 mln mobile handsets were shipped successful China successful September 2022, down 2.4% YoY, but up 10.2% MoM, according to caller figures released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a section of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Of full shipments successful September, 15.10 mln, oregon 72.2%, were 5G handsets, 5.53 mln, oregon 26.4%, were 4G handsets, and the remaining 0.29 mln, oregon 1.4%, were 3G and 2G handsets.

In the 9-month play from Jan-Sep 2022, a full of 196.06 mln mobile handsets were shipped successful China, down 21.1% YoY. Of this total, 153.28 mln, oregon 78.2%, were 5G handsets, 40.99 mln, oregon 20.9%, were 4G handsets, and the remaining 1.79 mln, oregon 0.9%, were 3G and 2G handsets.

A full of 18.33 mln handsets from home handset brands were shipped successful China successful September, down 9.6% YoY, but up 2.6% MoM, accounting for 87.6% of full handset shipments. Shipments of smartphones comprised 19.84 mln units, down 4.6% YoY, but up 9.4% MoM, and accounting for 94.8% of full handsets shipped successful China successful September.

In the 9-month play from Jan-Sep 2022, 169.67 mln handsets from home handset brands were shipped successful China, down 24.4% YoY, accounting for 86.5% of full handset shipments. During the period of September, 34 caller handset models were released successful China, down 41.4% YoY and 29.2% MoM. In the 9-month play from Jan-Sep 2022, 305 caller handset models were released successful China, down 13.8% YoY; of this total, 156, oregon 51.1%, were 5G models, 142, oregon 46.6%, were 4G models, and 7, oregon 2.3%, were 3G oregon 2G models. Of the full caller handset models released from Jan-Sep 2022, 278, oregon 91.1%, were from home brands, and 257, oregon 84.3%, were smartphone models.
