Keith Levene, the trailblazing guitarist who co-founded The Clash and Public Image Ltd., died of liver crab Friday. He was 65.
Author/writer Adam Hammond confirmed the punk pioneer’s passing successful a statement.
“It is with large sadness I study that my adjacent person and legendary Public Image Limited guitarist Keith Levene passed distant connected Friday 11th November,” helium wrote.
“There is nary uncertainty that Keith was 1 of the astir innovative, audacious and influential guitarists of each time.”
Levene co-founded The Clash successful 1976, but near earlier the set started recording. He co-wrote “What’s My Name,” which appears connected the archetypal album.
He co-founded Public Image and performed with the radical until 1983.
