A Jersey sportfishing vas is "believed to person sunk" aft a collision with a ferry astatine astir 05:30 GMT, Ports of Jersey has said.

RNLI lifeboats from Jersey and Guernsey, a French naval craft and 2 rescue helicopters are progressive successful the search.

Ports said a "large fig of section sportfishing vessels" were besides searching.

Condor Ferries confirmed its vas the Commodore Goodwill had been progressive successful the incident.

CEO John Napton said that the "master remains successful afloat bid of the vessel", which was carrying 5 passengers and 24 unit members and docked successful Elizabeth Harbour.
