RIGHT NOW, IT IS FOCUSED ON DOING A LOT OF IT, INCLUDING IN FELTON GROVE WHERE THIS TREE COLLAPSED IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR THE COVERED BRIDGE. TODAY, WE WERE SEEING LOTS OF LANDSLIDES, LOTS OF TREACHEROUS ROADS AND FALLEN TREES AND LOTS OF FLOODING. THAT PROMPTING MULTIPLE EVACUATION ORDERS IN THE COUNTY. IN FELTON GROVE, DUE TO THE SAN LORENZO RIVER THAT WAS FLOODED, COUNTY CREWS HAD TO HOP ON JET STREET -- JET SKIS TO RESCUE STRANDED HOMEOWNERS. MEANWHILE, PARADISE PARK ALONG HIGHWAY 9, LOTS OF FLOODING. THIS AREA WAS UNDER EVACUATION ORDERS. THE NATIONAL GUARD PATROLLED THE AREA FOR RESCUES. FORTUNATELY, ACCORDING TO THE COUNTY, THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF FATALITIES OR INJURIES AT THIS TIME. THE COUNTY SAYS THESE FLOODS CAUGHT THEM BY SURPRISE. >> WHAT I WAS SURPRISED BY WAS THE SPEED AT WHICH THE RIVERS ROSE. WE DID NOT EXPECT TO HAVE TO ISSUE EVACUATION ORDERS SO EARLY. REPORTER: SO FAR, DAMAGE HAS BEEN EXTENSIVE COUNTYWIDE. THIS IS THE VIA DEL SOL BRIDGE NEAR THE CORRALITOS CREEK, WHICH FELL EARLY THIS MORNING, STRANDING SOME 60 HOMEOWNERS UNTIL CREWS COULD CLEAR DEBRIS OFF ANOTHER BRIDGE. THE COUNTY ESTIMATES THAT SO FAR, THERE’S BEEN AT LEAST $27 MILLION IN DAMAGES COUNTYWIDE, AND WITH MORE STORMS IN THE FORECAST THAT COULD WELL INCREASE. A COUNTY SPOKESPERSON TELLS ME COUNTY SUPERVISORS ARE EXPECTED TO RATIFY A DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY TOMORROW. THAT GOES ALONG WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN APPROVING A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR CALIFORNIA DUE TO THE STORMS.
