An inquest has opened into the deaths of 4 boys who died erstwhile they fell into an icy water adjacent Solihull.

Finlay Butler, eight, and his younger member Samuel, six, died, arsenic did their relative Thomas Stewart, 11, and different boy, Jack Johnson, 10.

The inquest heard the boys went to provender the ducks and skim stones and Jack past decided to spell connected the crystal and the others followed.

Det Insp Jim Edmonds, from West Midlands Police, said Finlay fell done the crystal first, erstwhile helium was was respective metres retired from the shore.

Thomas and Jack fell successful erstwhile they went to assistance him.
