Winter upwind advisory issued for parts of south-central Pennsylvania

LET’S PIN IT DOWN FOR YOU. HERE’S OUR NEWS 8 STORM TEAM FORECAST TODAY INCREASING CLOUDS THIS MORNING. SO IT WAS CLEAR OVERNIGHT. IT’S FROSTY OUT THERE. IT’S IN THE TWENTIES NOW. I THINK BY NINE, 10:00 WILL BE ABOUT 36 DEGREES. THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE A MIX OR SOME RAIN IN SOUTHEASTERN COUNTIES, SNOW, WEIR MIX, NORTHWEST. SO 40 DEGREES WILL BE YOUR HIGH TODAY. AND THAT’S GOOD NEWS BECAUSE SURFACE TEMPERATURES ROAD TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE ABOVE FREEZING. SO THAT LEAVES LITTLE IMPACTS ON OUR ROADS LATER THIS EVENING. RAIN SOUTHEAST LIKE WE’VE BEEN SAYING AND ANY SNOW THAT YOU SEE WILL BE TRANSITIONING OVER TO BY 8:09 P.M.. SO IT’S A SMALL WINDOW WHERE WE COULD SEE SOME SNOW AND IT MAY ACCUMULATE ON GRASS FOR TONIGHT. CLOUDY SKIES, RAIN ENDING LATE. THE GOOD NEWS IS WE STAY ABOVE FREEZING. SO I DON’T SEE ANY IMPACTS TO THE ROADS OVERNIGHT OR EARLY TOMORROW MORNING FOR THE RUSH TOMORROW, MOSTLY CLOUDY, A LITTLE SPOTTY SHOWER AROUND BREEZY AND MILDER, MILDER BEING 48 DEGREES BECAUSE AFTER TOMORROW, WE RIGHT BACK DOWN INTO THE LOW FORTIES. CURRENTLY IN LANCASTER, IT’S CLEAR. IT’S CALM, IT’S COLD, 30 DEGREES, FROSTY START IN NEW YORK, IT’S 23, 28 FOR HARRISBURG, 31, RIGHT NOW IN CHAMBERSBURG WITH INCREASING CLOUDS. SO THAT’S THE THEME THIS MORNING. CLOUDS GRADUALLY COMING IN AHEAD OF THIS MIXED WEATHER SYSTEM. SNOW THE MIDWEST, RAIN IN THE SOUTHEAST AND TENNESSEE VALLEY AND THAT AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS GOING TO TRACK JUST TO OUR SOUTHEAST TODAY. SO HERE’S WHAT THE PREDICTOR SHOWS. CLOUDS THICKEN THIS MORNING AFTER LUNCHTIME, AS EARLY AS 2 P.M., YOU COULD BE SEEING A LITTLE RAIN OR A LITTLE BIT OF MIX COMING DOWN IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. I DO THINK IT REALLY STARTS TO RAMP UP BY FOUR OR 5 P.M. AND THAT’S OF COURSE RIGHT DURING THE MORNING OR THE EVENING RUSH RATHER. SO YOU’LL SEE SOME SNOW WEST NORTHWEST OF HARRISBURG, RAIN SOUTHEAST. AGAIN, ROAD TEMPERATURES BE ABOVE FREEZING AT THIS TIME. SO I’M NOT LOOKING FOR ANY WIDESPREAD ACCUMULATION ON THE ROADS AS LOW LEVEL, AS WARM THE ATMOSPHERE. LOOK AT THAT. EVERYBODY TRANSITIONS OVER INTO RAIN BY 9 P.M.. SO REALLY WE’RE TALKING ABOUT A THREE, MAYBE FOUR HOUR WINDOW WHERE SOME OF THE AREA COULD BE SEEING SOME LIGHT SNOW THIS EVENING AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW. THE STORM IS LONG GONE. THEN WE GET THAT FRESH OF COLDER AIR FOR THURSDAY INTO THE WEEKEND. HERE’S THE PREDICTOR. ESTIMATED SNOWFALL TOTALS AND PAGE TENTION TO THE BLUE. IF YOU LIVE IN THE COUNTY IN BLUE, YOU COULD GET SOME ACCUMULATION IN THE GRASS. AND WE’RE JUST TALKING ABOUT A COATING FOR MOST, MAYBE UP TO AN INCH AT ELEVATION. WON’T EVEN RULE OUT A TWO INCH TOTAL ON SOUTH MOUNTAIN OR REALLY HIGH ELEVATIONS OF MIFFLIN COUNTY. THERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR TEN DAY FORECAST. WE HAVE THE COLD LOCKED IN ALL THE WAY THROUGH WEEK. IF YOU’RE TRAVELING FOR THANKSGIVING, NEXT WEEK, LOOKS PRETTY DRY.
