Harrisburg, PA – Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Acting Secretary Neil Weaver contiguous announced $5.8 cardinal has been awarded to assistance stateless families find lodging and combat homelessness crossed the commonwealth. The backing is provided done the national Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program.

“ESG backing provides section governments and non-profits crossed the commonwealth with the tools they request to assistance unlock captious lodging resources for their communities,” said Sec. Weaver. “The backing approved contiguous volition spell to trusted assemblage organizations to assistance individuals and families experiencing oregon facing homelessness.”

A full of $5,872,054 successful ESG backing was approved for 16 municipal grantees and six nonprofits who volition administer determination projects covering 26 counties.

The 2022 ESG backing eligibility falls into six categories: accelerated rehousing, homelessness prevention, thoroughfare outreach, exigency shelter, stateless absorption accusation systems (HMIS), and administration.

ESG backing is authorized by McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act arsenic amended by the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act of 2009.
