A food has been filmed 8,336m (27,349ft) nether the aboveground of the ocean, the deepest a food has ever been seen swimming.
The taxon - a benignant of snailfish of the genus Pseudoliparis - was was filmed by an autonomous "lander" dropped into the Izu-Ogasawara Trench, southbound of Japan.
"If idiosyncratic does find a deeper fish, it's not going to beryllium by much," said the expedition's main scientist, Alan Jamieson.
The probe expedition was portion of a 10-year survey connected the deepest food successful the world. The different footage contained successful this clip was filmed a somewhat shallower depth.
