Secret Bike Trails Part 1 #bikelife #cycling #adventuretime #mountainbiking
Breaking the pain barrier on this mountain bike ride. (15.83 mi, Elev. Gain 3,434ft, Total time 3h 18m) I started the bike ride with the idea of going up the mountain 4 times to enjoy 4 downhill trails.
There is only one way up to get to the trailhead for the 4 downhill trails. The uphill sections were 25-30 min bike riding up hill.
The first time pedaling the bike uphill felt good and doable to go up 4 times. Second to third time going uphill I started to feel tired pedaling up, and the weather temperature started getting hot. When I went down on the third downhill trail and I started going up for the fourth time, I started having cramp feelings on legs and stomach. But, in my mind I kept thinking "I got to do this", "I must accomplish my plan" and kept saying you will have a great feeling of satisfaction if you make it to the top again and enjoy one more downhill. I made it to the top but mostly walking the very steep uphill sections on the way up to avoid cramping up.
I was already out of water, and I forgot to bring electrolytes. My breathing was very heavy and arms and legs started to feel very weak. I started to have the feeling of cramping on every pedal stroke and every walking step and every pedal go. I made it to the top and sat under a tree on the shade for a good 15 minutes.
I got up and I started feeling dizzy and seeing dark. This is the point when I knew I was having a heat stroke. I rested some more and went down on my last downhill trail. I made it down to the bottom of the mountain and from there it was all waling back to my car. Fortunately, my car was very close to the end of the trail.
